The workflow is opt-in by design, since most session types benefit from instant booking and don't need a screening step. Turning on approval for just the sessions that warrant it, a consultation, an interview, a high-value engagement, keeps everything else booking normally while giving you a first look at the ones that matter.
Approval also defers a decision that usually shouldn't be locked in early: the meeting location. Rather than fixing Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, or in person at booking time, you choose it when you approve, which matters when the right format depends on who's asking. The one current limit is that approval applies to single, fixed-host session types; recurring and round-robin bookings still confirm instantly.
Flip “requires approval” on for any session type. Everything else keeps booking instantly.
A guest picks a slot like normal. It holds the time and shows up in your dashboard as pending, no calendar event yet.
Approve and choose Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, or in person on the spot. Decline with an optional note for the guest.

What does the guest see while a request is pending?
A “request received” confirmation with no meeting link yet, since none exists until you approve. Once you approve, they get the normal confirmation with the link.
Can I pick a different meeting location than the session type's default?
Yes. The approval dialog preselects the session type's usual location but lets you change it, Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, or in person, before confirming.
Does this work for recurring or round-robin sessions?
Not yet. Approval currently applies to single, fixed-host session types. Recurring and round-robin bookings stay instant for now.
